Our skin takes a beating every day. Sun exposure, pollution, dehydration, aging, and other damaging factors can take a toll on the skin that become apparent over time, as fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, age spots, pigmentation, and roughened texture.
How is Microdermabrasion Performed?
Rejuvenating microdermabrasion is performed on the face and neck. Dr. Miller’s experienced, licensed estheticians will use a custom engineered DermaFlow™ hand-held device to apply tiny pressurized crystals onto your skin. The microdermabrasion device uses gentle abrasion and suction to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells. This process encourages the skin to produce new underlying skin cells with increased collagen and elastin, which further improves the skin for a more youthful appearance.
The procedure typically lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. As it is not painful, treatment is usually performed without the need for anesthetic. There may be some redness of the skin for a few hours after the procedure. You may apply makeup and return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. In most cases, a series of treatments is needed to produce the optimal results.
